This image was taken two days before my 30th birthday. I woke up at 4 am on a saturday and made the 1 hour drive to one of my favorite overlooks (East Fork Overlook). Upon arriving in the dark I set up two cameras with different perspectives and then laid on the stone wall waiting for the sun to rise. As the sun began to rise the few clouds in the sky lit up with an fire like orange, although they only stayed this way for a few minutes I knew that I had captured something special. To this date the warm embrace of this sunrise captured so near to my birthday remains one of my personal favorites.
