Battered

These old wooden posts on folly beach have obviously been through a lot. As I walked out near them to try and set up my composition the water went from 6 inches deep to close to 4 feet deep within on step. I scrambled to keep my camera above water and tried to regain my footing. As you can see from the image the water wasn't exactly calm. I finally got my self upright and recomposed myself. I then found the composition I was looking for and shot off a few images trying to time them with the movement of the ocean in front of me. The resulting image I think conveys the power of the ocean that I got to experience first hand that evening.
